Batman Movies
Batman (1966) was the first movie and Adam West played Batman while Burt Ward played Robin. In this movie four villains ganged up to defeat Batman and Robin. The villains were played by the Joker, the Riddler, the Penguin and Catwoman. The second Batman movie is Batman (1989). In this movie batman was played by Michael Keaton while Jack Nicholson played Jack Napier who later became the Joker. This movie showed Gotham City being overrun by the mob and a corrupt police force. Here Batman was to confront his tragic past so as to bring the mob and the joker down.
The next Batman Movie was in 1992 where Michael Keaton played as Batman while Catwoman was played by Michelle Pfeiffer. The Penguin was played by Danny DeVito, and Christopher Welkin played a corrupt businessman. The businessman and the Penguin try to destroy Batman's reputation; the Penguin kidnaps children from wealthy families in Gotham City. Batman works to save the children and clear his name. The Batman (1995) movie had Val Kilmer playing as Batman and Robina was played by Chris O'Donnell. In this movie Harvey Dent believes that the accident that made him two faced was caused by Batman. Thus together with the Riddler they make a plan to expose Batman's true identity. Batman and Robin movie was released in 1997 featuring George Clooney as Batman while Robin was played by Chris O'Donnell. Poison Ivy is played by Uma Thurman, who is portrayed as a woman able to kill and control botanical life. Mr. Freeze was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, a villain.
In the year 2005 Batman Begins movie was released which was the first movie to feature Christian Bale as Batman. It showed why and how Bruce Wayne became Batman. The Dark Knight movie was released in 2008 still featuring Christian Bale as Batman. The Joker was played by Heath Ledger and Harvey Dent was played by Aaron Eckhart, and these were the only villains in the movie. The villains were working to bring the mob bosses down and it also shows an ongoing battle between Batman and the Joker.
Batman Animated Series
Batman: The Animated series premiered on 5th September, 1992 and was based on batman comics created by Bob Kane. It was produced by Warner Bros and originally aired on Fox Network. This series covers the adventures of Batman as he defends Gotham City from various costumed villains. These villains include The Joker, the Penguin, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, The Mad Hatter, Bane, Killer Croc, The Clock King and Ra's Al Ghul. In this series, Batman is millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne. This series became very successful even leading to the release of a feature film 'Batman: Mask of the Phantasm' while the series was being run. First Season focuses on the adventures of Batman, while the last episode focuses on adventures of both Batman and Robin, who was his younger crime fighting associate. This last episode was broadcast in 15th September 1995.
